Video how to – Extra easy ladybug stacked bow

Learn how to make a super easy ladybug stacked bow using the Bowdabra®! This beginner-friendly tutorial combines luxe velvet ribbon, bandana ribbon, funky bow loops, and a simple shoelace bow technique to create a beautiful layered bow you can use on a wreath, gift, lantern, door hanger, or home décor project. So, let’s get started!

Materials:

Bowdabra ribbons

1.5 yards – 7527.40/10-609 #7527 Texas Two Step Ribbon 1-1/2 in Red

1.5 yards – 782700/30:809 #7527 Texes Two Step Ribbon 1-1/2 in Red

2 yards – 7413.40/10-613 #7413 Brilliance Ribbon 50262 49739

Morex Ribbon York, PA 17406 1-1/2 In Black

2.5 yards – 7567.60/10-645 #7567 Lucky Ladybugs Ribbon 2-1/2 in Bright Yellow

3.5 yards – 7809.60/10-609 #7809 Elite Velvet/ 2-sided Ribbon 2-1/2 in Red/Gold

Bowdabra

Bowdabra Bow Wire

Instructions:

Start with a piece of Bowdabra bow wire.  Fold it in half and insert it into the Bowdabra.  You will have a loop on one side and two loose wires on the other side.  This will serve as your slipknot. Tuck the ends under to stay out of the way while you are making your bow.

Next, take a length of the crushed velvet ribbon and place in the Bowdabra for the tails.

Now, make a twist and fold style bow. Twist the end of some crushed velvet ribbon and place it in the Bowdabra.  Bring the other side across to make a loop.  Continue twisting and folding to make loops, making sure the lame side is on the inside of the bow. Measure the loops to make certain the loops are approximately the same size.

Next, create a funky style bow. Fold lengths of the ladybug ribbon in half with a loop on one side and two tails on the other, like an awareness ribbon. Then, place them in the Bowdabra alternating the sides of loops and tails. Make sure when you twist, you place it in the Bowdabra so that the wrong side is on the inside.

Repeat for another twist and fold bow with the black ribbon. Lay a small piece of the same ribbon for tails.

Now, make a shoelace bow with the bandana ribbon. Find the center of the ribbon and scrunch it down into the Bowdabra.  Now bring one side across and scrunch down, then bring the other side across and scrunch down.

Finishing:

Finish with a button loop with some ladybug ribbon.

Now scrunch everything down with the Bowdabra wand.  Then, insert the loose wires through the loop and pull tight while the bow is still in the Bowdabra. Then, remove the bow from the Bowdabra, separate the ends, turn to the back, and tie a knot.  Tie a double knot for extra security. Shape and arrange the gorgeous ladybug stacked bow.
