Nick of Nick’s Seasonal Decor makes this fun and festive candy corn  spiky bow using the Mini Bowdabra®. The striking candy corn ribbon makes this bow extra special.  It’s uses are endless, from adding to a wreath or as a party decoration and gift wrap. Since the bow is made all tails it’s perfect for using scrap pieces of ribbon.

Materials:

• Bowdabra® Bow Wire
• Mini Bowdabra®
• 10 strips of 1½” wide ribbon — wired or non-wired will work
• Ribbon strips in graduated lengths, starting at 8–9” and decreasing to 5–6”

Instructions

First, cut a piece of Bowdabra bow wire.  Then, fold it in half and insert it into the Mini Bowdabra.  You will have a loop on one side and two loose wires on the other side.  This will serve as your slipknot. Tuck the ends under to stay out of the way while you are making your bow.

Next, cut small lengths of the candy corn ribbon and dovetail both ends. To dovetail, fold the ribbon in half and cut at an angle away from the fold. It is not necessary to cut all the ribbon the same, just cut random lengths of ribbon.

Now, start with the longest lengths of ribbons and place them in the Mini Bowdabra. Gradually work in the smaller lengths.

Now, scrunch everything down with the Mini Bowdabra wand.  Then, insert the loose wires through the loop and pull tight while the bow is still in the Bowdabra. Then, remove the bow from the Mini Bowdabra, separate the ends, turn to the back and tie a knot.  Tie a double knot for extra security.

Pull out an arrange all the tails to your liking and you have a gorgeous candy corn spiky bow simply made in just a few minutes!
