Hi everyone! It’s Nicole from Reed Family Farm and the Bowdabra® Design Team! Today, I’m sharing how to make this gorgeous pumpkin print bow with long tails using the Bowdabra®. Let’s get started!
Materials
3.5 yards of 2.5” wide wired pumpkin ribbon
3.5 yards of 1.5” wide wired checked ribbon
Instructions:
First, cut a piece of Bowdabra bow wire. Then, fold it in half and insert it into the Bowdabra. You will have a loop on one side and two loose wires on the other side. This will serve as your slipknot. Tuck the ends under to stay out of the way while you are making your bow.
Next, cut two lengths of pumpkin print ribbon and checked ribbon 24″ long and place them in the Bowdabra for the tails.
Next, make a funky style bow. Fold lengths of both pumpkin and checked ribbon in half with a loop on one side and two tails on the other, like an awareness ribbon. Then, place them in the Bowdabra alternating the sides of loops and tails. Create four loops on each side.
Scrunch everything down with the Bowdabra wand. Then, insert the loose wires through the loop and pull tight while the bow is still in the Bowdabra. Then, remove the bow from the Bowdabra, separate the ends, turn to the back, and tie a knot. Tie a double knot for extra security.
Fluff up the bow and pull open the loops. Dovetail all the tails. To dovetail, fold the ribbon in half and cut at an angle away from the fold.
Finally, curl the long tails and finish with a gorgeous pumpkin print bow for fall!
