Dad’s Best Ever Seasoning is the Father’s Day gift that Dad can use and enjoy again and again. The spicy seasoning is an easy gift to make—even the youngest kids can have a hand in its preparation.

This recipe comes from my son who is a chef. It’s become a kitchen staple in our house because it can be used in so many ways. You can season tacos or salsa, and use it as a dry rub on meats. A bit of hamburger meat takes burgers to a whole new level.

Here’s the recipe for Dad’s Best Ever Spicy Seasoning:

4¼ t chili powder
2 t cumin
1 t salt
1½ t freshly ground black pepper
1 T smoked paprika
½ t garlic powder
½ t onion powder
½ t crushed red pepper flakes
1 t dried oregano

Let’s make the seasoning:

Gather the ingredients for the seasoning, a mixing bowl, and measuring spoons.
Measure each ingredient into the mixing bowl.
Stir the spices together.
Transfer Dad’s Best Ever Seasoning into its container. An empty spice bottle or small Mason jar is perfect.
