Hi, Joette from the Bowdabra Design Team here with an ultimate wreath bow! Today I’m combining several of my favorite Bowdabra® bow-making techniques into one impressive wreath bow. This design incorporates a traditional bow, shoe bow, two styles of circle bows, a funky bow, and a half funky bow, finished with a button loop.

Using just a few simple supplies and the Large Bowdabra, you can create a full, dimensional bow with loads of texture and personality—perfect for wreaths, doors, gifts, seasonal décor, and so much more!

Materials:

* 10 yards of 2.5” wired ribbon of your choice
* Bowdabra® Bow Wire
* Large Bowdabra®

Instructions

First, cut a piece of Bowdabra bow wire.  Then, fold it in half and insert it into the Bowdabra.  You will have a loop on one side and two loose wires on the other side.  This will serve as your slipknot. Tuck the ends under to stay out of the way while you are making your bow.

Next, lay in a length of predovetailed ribbon for the tails.

Now, using about three yards of ribbon create a twist and fold bow. To make a multi-loop twist and fold bow, Scrunch in the ribbon, then, bring the ribbon across and scrunch down, twist, and repeat.  Continue making loops back and forth twisting and scrunching down into the Bowdabra.  Make sure the wrong sides are always on the inside of the bow.

Add two lengths of dovetailed ribbon pieces in an “X” shape for some tails.

Next, make a shoelace bow. Find the center of a length of ribbon and scrunch it down into the Bowdabra.  Now bring one side across and scrunch down, then bring the other side across and scrunch down.

Now, make a circle bow. To make a circle bow, place the right side of the ribbon down into the Bowdabra, bring the other side across and lay in the right side of the ribbon. Then, find the center and scrunch that down. Repeat for another circle bow.

Continue with the various bow techniques:

Next, make a half funky bow. Place the ribbon about an inch in and bring a loop across. You will have one loop and one tail. Repeat this with another length of ribbon alternating the side with the loop.

Now, make a funky bow with another length of ribbon. Fold lengths of ribbon in half with a loop on one side and two tails on the other like an awareness ribbon. Then, place them in the Bowdabra alternating the sides of loops and tails. Make sure the right sides are facing up.

Finish with a button loop.  Place a short length of ribbon about an 1inch in the Bowdabra and bring the other side across for a small loop. (button loop)

Now scrunch everything down with the Bowdabra wand.  Then, insert the loose wires through the loop and pull tight while the bow is still in the Bowdabra. Then, remove the bow from the Bowdabra, separate the ends, turn to the back and tie a knot.  Tie a double knot for extra security, and you have an ultimate wreath bow that uses several bowmaking styles in one amazing bow!
