Learn how to make a big, beautiful, fall bow using the Bowdabra®! This layered autumn bow combines deco mesh, wired burlap, sunflower ribbon, fall truck ribbon, flowing tails, and a cheerful sunflower centerpiece. Perfect for a wreath or door bow, it will be sure to turn heads!

Materials

Bowdabra ribbons:

2.5 yards – 7561.60/10-609 # 7561 Flower Delivery Ribbon 2-1/2 in Natural/Red

3.5 yards – 7391.60/50-720 # 7391 Abundance Ribbon 2-1/2 In Pumpkin

2.5 yards – 1252.60/10-605 #1252 Burlap (wired) Ribbon 2-1/2 in Bright Yellow

1 yard – 1252.40/10-194 # 1252 Burlap (wired) Ribbon 1-1/2 in Rose Red

Bowdabra

Bowdabra Bow Wire

Instructions:

First, cut an extra-long piece of Bowdabra bow wire so that you have enough excess bow wire to tie your bow to a wreath.  Then, fold it in half and insert it into the Bowdabra.  You will have a loop on one side and two loose wires on the other side.  This will serve as your slipknot. Tuck the ends under to stay out of the way while you are making your bow.

Next, for the bow base, take the deco mesh and place it in the bowdabra, bring it across, and make large loops back and forth. Make two large loops on each side.

Now, cut a length of the fall plaid ribbon and dovetail the ends.  Place in the Bowdabra for the tails. Using the same ribbon, make a fold and twist bow with about 3 loops on each side. To make a multi-loop twist and fold bow, Scrunch in the ribbon, then bring the ribbon across and scrunch down, twist, and repeat.

Next, use the gold burlap ribbon to make an “X” for tails. One side is going up, and the other side is facing down. Using another piece of the same ribbon, make a circle bow, place the right side of the ribbon down into the Bowdabra, bring the other side across, and lay the right side of the ribbon. Then, find the center and scrunch that down.

Continue laying bow styles:

Scrunch everything down with the Bowdabra wand. Now, add some more tails in the “X” shape with the flower delivery ribbon. Using some more of the same ribbon, make a shoelace bow. To make a little shoelace bow. Find the center of the ribbon and scrunch it down into the Bowdabra.  Now bring one side across and scrunch down, then bring the other side across and scrunch down.

Finally, create another shoelace bow with the red burlap ribbon. Add the sunflower in the center.

Now scrunch everything down with the Bowdabra wand.  Then, insert the loose wires through the loop and pull tight while the bow is still in the Bowdabra. Then, remove the bow from the Bowdabra, separate the ends, turn to the back, and tie a knot.  Tie a double knot for extra security.

Shape and arrange the bow.  Pull open the loops and adjust the tails. You have a big, beautiful fall bow created with the Bowdabra in just minutes!
