Why use beard oil? Beard oil isn’t just about scent—it’s a grooming essential that supports both hair and skin. Coconut oil is a lightweight, non-greasy moisturizer that softens beard hair, helps reduce dryness and flaking beneath the beard, and adds a natural, healthy-looking sheen. Frankincense essential oil supports skin comfort while giving a calming aroma with a warm, woodsy scent.

Gather These Ingredients:Supplies for Scented Beard Oil

  • 1 Tbsp + 2 tsp liquid (fractionated) coconut oil
  • 5–8 drops frankincense essential oil
  • Small glass dropper bottle (1 oz)
  • Small funnel (optional)

Let’s Make Scented Beard Oil:

  1. Prepare Your Bottle—Make sure your dropper bottle is clean and completely dry.
  2. Add the Coconut Oil—Use a funnel to pour the liquid coconut oil into the bottle.
  3. Add Frankincense—Add 5–8 drops of frankincense essential oil. Fewer drops result in a more subtle scent.
  4. Mix Gently—Place the dropper cap on and gently shake the bottle to blend the oils.
  5. Label the Bottle (optional)—Label your bottle with the blend name. Here are downloadable, resizable labels: Frankincense Beard Oil label and a label with no text.

How to Use Beard Oil

Most men enjoy using beard oil once a day, but adjust based on their beard’s texture and dryness. Using beard oil correctly makes all the difference in softness and shine.

  • Start with a Clean Beard—Apply after a shower or washing the face, when the beard is slightly damp.
  • Use a Small Amount—Place 3–6 drops in the palm of the hand. Shorter beards need less, longer beards need more.
  • Warm the Oil—Rub the hands together to warm and distribute the oil evenly.
  • Massage into the Beard—Work the oil through the beard from roots to ends. Don’t forget the skin underneath.
  • Comb or Brush—Use a beard comb or brush to evenly distribute the oil and shape the beard.
