Hi everyone! Olivia from Pretty Palace Porches is here to show you how to create a superpatriotic wreath bow with Bowdabra®. This easy Bow uses just a few coordinating ribbons and the Bowdabra®. The festive bow is perfect for adding a patriotic touch to your wreaths, décor, and holiday celebrations!
Materials Needed
• Bowdabra®
• Bowdabra® Bow Wire
• 4 coordinating wired ribbons:
• 1½ yards of 2½-inch flagged ribbon
• 1½ yards of 2½-inch blue mesh ribbon
• 1 yard of 2½-inch bandana ribbon
• 1 yard of 1-inch checked ribbon
Instructions:
First, cut a length of the Bowdabra bow wire, fold it in half, and lay it in the Bowdabra. This will be the slipknot when your bow is finished.
Next, using some flag ribbon, make a fold and twist bow. To do this, scrunch in the ribbon, then bring the ribbon across and scrunch down, twist, and repeat. Continue making loops back and forth, twisting and scrunching down into the Bowdabra. Make sure the wrong sides are always on the inside of the bow.
Make two loops on each side, leaving a tail. Add another dovetailed piece of the same ribbon, placing it in the Bowdabra.
Repeat this step with the blue mesh and bandana ribbon, making two loops on each side of the blue mesh ribbon and one loop on each side of the bandana ribbon. Now, place another strip of the dovetailed flag ribbon right in the Bowdabra. Repeat this with the blue mesh ribbon as well.
To finish, make another fold and twist bow with the 1-inch wide checkered ribbon.
Next, thread the loose bow wire through the loop and pull tight while the bow is still in the Bowdabra. Remove from the Bowdabra and tie a knot in the front of the bow, turn to the back, and tie it in another knot.
Finishing the superpatriotic wreath bow:
Open all the loops and pull down the tails and arrange the bow. Trim or dovetail all the ribbon tails. Curl the one-inch ribbon. Add this gorgeous bow to a wreath, or even a gift package!
