Hi everyone! I’m Joette from the Bowdabra Design Team, and today I’ll show you how to create a Spring Cemetery headstone saddle arrangement. Let’s get started!
Supplies:
For Stacked Bow:
• 3 matching patterns/colors of 2.5″ wide wired ribbon
• 1 matching pattern/color of 1.5″ wide wired ribbon
• Small mixed (matching) floral bush
For Arrangement:
• 2 mossy branch bushes
• 2 ficus stems
• 2 sweet potato vine stems
• Hanging eucalyptus bush
• Hanging fern bush
• 4 large mixed floral bushes
• Small pack of prayer leaf foliage stems
Tools/Accessories:
• Wire saddle frame
• Zip ties
• Large Bowdabra
• Bowdabra Bow Wire
Instructions
First, cut a piece of Bowdabra bow wire. Then, fold it in half and insert it into the Bowdabra. You will have a loop on one side and two loose wires on the other side. This will serve as your slipknot. Tuck the ends under to stay out of the way while you are making the bow for your cemetery arrangement.
Next, lay in some precut tails in an X pattern. Then, make a circle bow with some scrap ribbon. To do this, place the right side of the ribbon down into the Bowdabra, bring the other side across, and lay down the right side of the ribbon. Then, find the center and scrunch that down.
Follow this with some more scrap ribbon to make a shoelace bow. Find the center of a piece of ribbon and scrunch it down into the Bowdabra. Now bring one side across and scrunch down, then bring the other side across and scrunch down.
Make two more shoelace bows with more scraps of ribbon. Next, stack some pre-cut tails into the Bowdabra, finishing with one last shoelace bow. Finally, add a floral bush.
Now scrunch everything down with the Bowdabra wand. Then, insert the loose wires through the loop and pull tight while the bow is still in the Bowdabra. Then, remove the bow from the Bowdabra, separate the ends, turn to the back, and tie a knot. Tie a double knot for extra security. Set it aside.
Start building the spray for the saddle arrangement:
Repeat the steps for placing some Bowdabra bow wire in the Bowdabra. Now, place some greenery, branches, and ficus leaves into the Bowdabara building from side to side.
Now, add two large floral bushes on each side. Add some flat leaves to make a sort of collar for a place to add the bow you have already created.
Tie the arrangement up as you did for the bow, making sure all the pieces are in the arrangement and tying a double knot in the back.
Zip tie the arrangement to the cemetery saddle form. Shape and fluff all the florals. Attach the bow previously created right in the center of the cemetery headstone saddle arrangement.
