Sandy Sandler, the creator of the Bowdabra, shows you an easy bow-making idea along with a reusable beach bag to present a gift in style! What a unique way to give a gift within a gift! You could think of lots of beach items to fill it for a perfect summer birthday and more!
Materials:
Beach bag
2 1/2″ burlap ribbon
1 1/2″ wide gold ribbon
1 1/2″ striped ribbon
Instructions
First, cut a piece of Bowdabra bow wire. Then, fold it in half and insert it into the Bowdabra. You will have a loop on one side and two loose wires on the other side. This will serve as your slipknot. Tuck the ends under to stay out of the way.
Next, make a shoelace-style bow. First, dovetail the ends of a length of ribbon. To dovetail, fold the ribbon in half and cut at an angle away from the fold. Find the center of the ribbon and scrunch it down into the Bowdabra with the right side facing down. Now bring one side across and scrunch down, then bring the other side across and scrunch down.
Repeat this step with 1 1/2″ wide gold ribbon. And repeat another shoelace bow with some striped ribbon.
Next, using Bowdabra scrunchy ribbon, insert it from the top and scrunch down like an accordion.
Now scrunch everything down with the Bowdabra wand. Then, insert the loose wires through the loop and pull tight while the bow is still in the Bowdabra. Then, remove the bow from the Bowdabra, separate the ends, turn to the back, and tie a knot. Tie a double knot for extra security.
Shape the bow and pull open all the loops. Use the excess wire to tie the bow onto the beach bag. What an easy bow-making idea to dress up a beautiful summer gift!!
