How to make the best black and white buffalo plaid bow

Hi everyone, Steph Ackerman here with a gorgeous buffalo plaid Bowdabra Bow using the Bowdabra. This bow is multi use and perfect for gift wrap or adding to wreaths.

Supplies:
Bowdabra Bow Making Tool Large
Bowdabra Bow Wire
1 1/2″ Buffalo Plaid
Black Ribbon

Instructions:

First, cut a piece of Bowdabra bow wire, fold it in half, and insert it into the Bowdabra.  You will have a loop on one side and two loose wires on the other side.  This will serve as your slipknot. Tuck the ends under to stay out of the way while you are making your bow.

Cut both ribbons approximately 12″ in length.
Place in the Bowdabra.

Holding both ribbons together, place them in the Bowdabra, leaving no tail.

Create loops by passing the ribbon through the channel, twisting it on each turn so that the wrong side is on the inside of the bow.

Periodically, use the bow wand to push down on the ribbon loops.

Create 3 loops on either side with the double ribbon pattern.

Keeping the checked ribbon in place, cut away the black ribbon just outside the channel.

Make 2 additional loops of just the checked ribbon.
Again, use the bow wand to push the loops down in the channel.

Pull up on the bow wire, threading the ends through the loop.
Pull tight, turn to the back, and tie a knot.
Dove tail all ends.

Fluff out the loops, pulling the checked ribbon away from the black ribbon.
This gives the ribbon a really nice full effect, and buffalo plaid is trending right now!

Thanks for stopping by.

Steph
