Hi! I’m Joette from the Bowdabra® Design Team! Today I’m making a large, high-end bow with Bowdabra®. This bow is beautifully layered and professionally finished—but is surprisingly easy to create! This show-stopping bow is perfect for wreaths and more!
Materials:
4 yds of 4” wide wired ribbon
yds of 2.5” wide wired ribbon
2 yds of 1.5” wide wired ribbon
4 yds of 7/8” wide wired ribbon
10–12” length of 4” wide wired ribbon
Large Bowdabra®
Bowdabra® Bow Wire
Instructions:
First, cut a piece of Bowdabra bow wire. Then, fold it in half and insert it into the Bowdabra. You will have a loop on one side and two loose wires on the other side. This will serve as your slipknot. Tuck the ends under to stay out of the way while you are making your bow.
Next, using about a yard of 4″ wide wired ribbon, make the tails in an “X’ like shape. Dovetail the ends and place one length of ribbon facing up and cross over another length of ribbon facing down, making an “X” shape.
Now using about 2 yards of the same 4″ ribbon, make a shoelace bow. To do this, find the center of the ribbon and scrunch it down into the Bowdabra. Now bring one side across and scrunch down, then bring the other side across and scrunch down.
Repeat this with the lame/velvet ribbon, making an “X” for the tails, and then making another shoelace bow.
Next, make two slightly smaller shoelace bows with some more of the lame/velvet ribbon.
Now, use the 1 1/2″ wide print ribbon to make another “X”.
Now, use the 7/8″ wide ribbon to make two more shoelace bows.
Finally, use a scrap piece of the 4″ wide ribbon to make a scrunchy bow. Insert the ribbon from the top and scrunch down like an accordion. Make sure you scrunch from the center, and when you get to the ends, turn them under to hide any fraying.
Now, scrunch everything down with the Bowdabra wand. Then, insert the loose wires through the loop and pull tight while the bow is still in the Bowdabra. Then, remove the bow from the Bowdabra, separate the ends, turn to the back, and tie a knot. Tie a double knot for extra security. The Bowdabra wire makes it so easy!
Arrange and adjust the bow. You have a large, high-end bow made easy with the Bowdabra!
