Halloween is creeping up, and what better way to celebrate than with some spooky-cute DIY crafts? These jack-o-lantern and witch magnets are not only adorable—they glow! Using battery-operated tealights, glitter, and a few simple supplies, you can create magical decorations that light up your fridge, office, or classroom. The flame-shaped bulb on battery-operated tealights makes the perfect nose for jack-o-lanterns and adds a magical glow to witches. Plus, they’re safe, reusable, and totally charming. Let’s get started!

What You’ll Need:
- Battery-operated tealights (the kind with a flame-shaped bulb)
- Small round magnets
- Witch’s hat template
- Liquid glue
- Hot glue gun or strong craft glue
- Scissors
- For the Jack-o-Lantern: Orange glitter, black rhinestones, tan or brown and green pipe cleaners
- For the Witch: Green glitter, black felt or cardstock, short length of narrow ribbon, googly eyes, purple rhinestone
Let’s make a Halloween Magnet:
- Prep the Tealight: Coat the tealight (not the bulb) with liquid glue. Sprinkle glitter generously, and let it dry.

- Create the Faces
Jack-o-Lantern: Glue black rhinestone eyes and mouth in place. Fold a 3″ piece of tan or brown pipe cleaner in half, and twist the ends to secure. Coil a 2″ length of green pipe cleaner around a skewer or thin knitting needle. Twist to the bottom of the stem. Glue in place on top of the tealight.
Witch: Using the witch’s hat template, cut out a hat from black felt or cardstock. Glue the narrow ribbon in place as a hat band. Glue googly eyes and a purple “wart” on the tealight for the face. Glue the hat in place.
- Add the Magnet: Flip the tealight over and glue a small round magnet to the back.
