Hi there! I’m Lisa from The Rustic Vine, part of the Bowdabra Design Team, and today I’m excited to share a DIY flag decor hanger tutorial. This patriotic project is rustic, festive, and easy to customize with your favorite fabric colors. It’s a fun way to add year-round patriotic charm to your home—so let’s get crafting!
Supplies:
• Wooden heart (from Dollar Tree or anywhere
• Patriotic-themed fabric strips
• Aleene’s Tacky Glue
• Fabric or ribbon for bow
• Drop cloth or cardstock for the tag
• Stamps or markers for the tag
• Hot glue
• Large Bowdabra
• Twine or Bowdabra Bow Wire

Instructions:
First, coffee and cinnamon to stain some fabric strips of your choice.
Next, using a heart cutout, cover it with some tacky glue and smooth it out.
Cut out your fabric strips in various lengths and then attach them to the heart cutout in your chosen design. When the glue has dried, trim off the excess fabric all around.
Make the Bow:
Cut a piece of jute or Bowdabra bow wire, fold it in half, and lay it in the Bowdabra. You will have a loop on one side and two loose wires or cords on the other side.
Now, place the ribbon or fabric right side down into the Bowdabra, twist to make sure the right side is facing up, and bring it across to make a loop. Make a matching loop on the other side for a shoelace-style bow.
Thread the wires or jute through the loop and pull tight. Remove from the bowdabra and tie a knot in the back.
To finish, glue the bow onto the prepared flag decor hanger. Add another small jute bow on top and a printed message as well.
