How to make a beautiful, and unique gift for any occasion

unique gift

Need a fabulous way to create a unique gift for Mother’s Day, Graduations, Birthdays, Housewarmings, and other special occasions? Imagine a glass container filled with fine chocolates, wrapped in mesh, and tied with a lovely Bowdabra bow! Sounds fabulous, doesn’t it! Let me show you how!

Materials Needed:

  • Glass container filled with your favorite fine chocolates
  • Mesh 10″ wide
  • Scissors/ruler
  • Bowdabra, Wand
  • Bowdabra Bow Wire
  • 2.5″ Wired Ribbon

How To:

After filling a glass container with designer candies such as Godiva,

cut two pieces of mesh long enough to cover the container plus about six inches more. The mesh will curl but it’s necessary to lay one piece of mesh horizontal and the other vertical in a criss-cross overlapping to cover the container in a decorative manner.

Secure the mesh at the top of the container with bow wire.

Make the bow:

Now let’s make a bow using the Bowdabra to decorate and close the mesh around the container. Insert an 18″ piece of bow wire folded in half into the Bowdabra, tucking ends under.

Then take a 10″ strip of ribbon and pinch the ribbon in the middle and insert down into the Bowdabra for the bow tails.

Dovetails the ends by folding each end together and cutting at an angle from the fold down to the opposite corner end.

Next, pinch the end of the ribbon on the roll placing it down into the Bowdabra.

Create a 3.5 inch loop, twisting the ribbon down into the Bowdabra smoothing the ribbon out.

On the opposite side fold over the ribbon creating another 3.5 inch loop, twisting the ribbon down into the Bowdabra.

Then make a loop about 3 inches long, twisting the ribbon down into the Bowdabra.

Make a matching 3″ loop on the opposite side for a total of four loops (two on each side).

Leave about 1.5″ inches of ribbon for the finish center, and use the Bowdabra wand to crunch down the bow, using scissors to cut off the excess ribbon.

While the bow is still in the Bowdabra, thread the two loose ends of the bow wire through the loop, pulling tightly while gently pulling the bow out.

And finally, tie the bow around the mesh using the Bowdabra bow wire, and then fluffing the bow for a gorgeous look!
