Materials
3.4 yards – 7824.60/10-609 #7824 Poinsettia Linen Ribbon 2-1/2 wide in Natural/Red
Christmas Floral branch
Large Lantern
Pinecone pick
Instructions:
First, cut a piece of Bowdabra bow wire. Then, fold it in half and insert it into the Bowdabra. You will have a loop on one side and two loose wires on the other side. This will serve as your slipknot. Tuck the ends under to stay out of the way while you are making your bow.
Next, place the poinsettia pick right into the Bowdabra, bending the end so that it stays in place. Then, place a length of pre-dovetailed poinsettia print ribbon in the Bowdabra for the tails.
Now, using a long length of the poinsettia print ribbon, make a traditional fold and twist bow. To do this, twist and scrunch in the ribbon, then bring the ribbon across and scrunch down, twist, and repeat. Continue making loops back and forth, twisting and scrunching down into the Bowdabra. Make sure the wrong sides are always on the inside of the bow.
Add a pinecone pick. Give everything a good scrunch with the Bowdabra wand. Then, insert the loose wires through the loop and pull tight while the bow is still in the Bowdabra. Then, remove the bow from the Bowdabra, separate the ends, turn to the back, and tie a knot. Tie a double knot for extra security.
Arrange the bow by opening the loops and pulling them all around. Adjust the florals and tails. Use the excess bow wire to tie the bow to your holiday lantern decor piece. What a super way to get a head start on your Christmas gift and decor list!
