Large Beautiful Bowdabra® Bow | Pretty Palace Porches

Olivia of Pretty Palace Porches creates a large, beautiful Bowdabra holiday bow using a gorgeous combination of red, green, gold, and festive ribbon patterns. This eye-catching bow is full of dimension, sparkle, and beautiful layers, making it a stunning addition to your seasonal decorating.

Supplies:

* 6 feet of 4” red with green and gold ribbon
* 6 feet of 4” red, gold & green plaid ribbon
* 5 feet of 2½” white Christmas tree ribbon
* 3 feet of 1½” gold-on-gold sparkle ribbon
* Large Bowdabra®
* Zip tie or Bowdabra® Bow Wire

Instructions:

First, cut a piece of Bowdabra bow wire.  Then, fold it in half and insert it into the Bowdabra.  You will have a loop on one side and two loose wires on the other side.  This will serve as your slipknot. Tuck the ends under to stay out of the way while you are making your bow.

Next, use the plaid ribbon to create a twist and fold bow with two loops on each side. Trim the tails.

Repeat this step with the green and red velvet ribbon. Make two loops with this ribbon as well.

Make another twist and fold bow with the Christmas tree print ribbon. Finally, make one more twist and fold bow with the gold sparkle ribbon.

Now scrunch everything down with the Bowdabra wand.  Then, insert the loose wires through the loop and pull tight while the bow is still in the Bowdabra. Then, remove the bow from the Bowdabra, separate the ends, turn to the back, and tie a knot.  Tie a double knot for extra security. You may alternatively use a zip tie.

To finish, dovetail all the tails. To dovetail, fold the ribbon in half and cut at an angle away from the fold. Fluff and arrange all the loops and tails for a beautiful Bowdabra holiday bow!
