Hi everyone! I’m Joette with the Bowdabra® Design Team, and today I’ll show you how to create this fun and festive Christmas in July large Candy Cane Wreath. The best part? It’s quick, easy, and requires absolutely no hot glue! Let’s get started!
Materials:
- Large tinsel candy cane
- 1 evergreen branch/stem
- 2 small evergreen picks
- 1 poinsettia, evergreen, and berry pick
- 2 small berry cluster picks
- 2½ yards of 2½-inch wide wired ribbon
- Large Bowdabra®
- Bowdabra® Bow Wire
Instructions:
First, cut a piece of Bowdabra bow wire. Then, fold it in half and insert it into the Bowdabra. You will have a loop on one side and two loose wires on the other side. This will serve as your slipknot. Tuck the ends under to stay out of the way while you are making your bow.
Next, lay in some juniper berries right into the Bowdabra. Add a poinsettia pick.
Now, using about 14 inches of the cardinal print ribbon, place it in the Bowdabra for the tails. Dovetails the ends. To dovetail, fold the ribbon in half and cut at an angle away from the fold.
Next, place about 1 inch overhand of another length of the cardinal print ribbon twist and leave a loop on one side and a tail on the other for a 1/2 funky bow.
Repeat with another length on the opposite side. Now, bend the stems of some berry picks and place them in the Bowdabra.
Next, using some sheer red ribbon, make a scrunchy bow. Insert the ribbon from the top and scrunch down like an accordion. Make sure you scrunch from the center.
Now, scrunch everything down with the Bowdabra wand. Then, insert the loose wires through the loop and pull tight while the bow is still in the Bowdabra. Then, remove the bow from the Bowdabra, separate the ends, turn to the back, and tie a knot. Tie a double knot for extra security.
Fluff and arrange the bow, and use the excess wire to tie the bow to the large candy cane wreath.
