I’m Joette from the Bowdabra Design Team
—watch me transform Hobby Lobby floral and greenery bushes into a beautiful funeral easel spray that you can reuse as a keepsake door decor piece with the Bowdabra. No hot glue is necessary, and I’ll show you how to do it quickly and easily!
Supplies:
• Palm bush
• Boston fern bush
• White gladiolus bush
• Red gladiolus bush
• Patriotic mixed floral bush
• White garden rose bush
• Large Bowdabra
• Zip ties
• Bowdabra Bow Wire
• 5 yds of 2-1/2″ Star Spangled ribbon
• Easel stand
• Navy blue Rustic Table Runner
(Hobby Lobby)
Instructions:
First cover the easel with the rustic table runner. You may skip this step if you are using it as a door swag.
Next, criss-cross two zip ties right into the Bowdabra. Now, use a palm bush to make a top and bottom of your spray, so place the palms in the Bowdabra. upwards and downwards. Continue to add some Boston fern stems.
Add the florals:
Now, place in some gladiolas white and red, adding them in relation to the top and bottom of the spray.
Separate a large patriotic bush into two pieces and place them in the Bowdabra. Add some roses.
Next, pull on the zip ties to secure all the florals. Use the excess zip tie to make a hook to hang onto the easel. Cut off the excess zip ties.
Make the bow:
Cut a piece of Bowdabra bow wire, fold it in half and place it in the Bowdabra.
Now cut about a yard of ribbon and dovetail the ends. Place it in the Bowdabra with shorter tails and the top and longer at the bottom.
To dovetail, fold the ribbon in half and cut at an angle away from the fold.
Next, using a long ribbon piece dovetail the ends and place in the Bowdabra with the short piece facing the top. Continue by making a fold and twist bow.
Scrunch in the ribbon right side down, then, bring the ribbon across and scrunch down, twist, and repeat. Continue making loops back and forth twisting and scrunching down into the Bowdabra. Make sure the wrong sides are always on the inside of the bow. End with the final tail long.
Add a flower in the center. Now scrunch everything down with the Bowdabra wand. Then, insert the loose wires through the loop and pull tight while the bow is still in the Bowdabra. Then, remove the bow from the Bowdabra, separate the ends, turn to the back and tie a knot. Tie a double knot for extra security.
Fluff the bow and tie it to the spray and clip off excess bow wire. You have a keepsake funeral spray that can also be used as a door swag!
