Super easy DIY – the best way to decorate a wooden Easter egg

Hi everyone, Steph Ackerman here sharing an easy way to decorate a wooden Easter egg with the aid of the Bowdabra.

Supplies:

Bowdabra Bow Maker
Bowdabra Bow Wire
Ribbons
Dollar Tree Wood egg
Dollar Tree Metal Word

Instructions:

First, cut a piece of bow wire, fold it in half, and lay it in the Bowdabra. Tuck the ends under to stay out of the way while making your bow.
I wanted to use burlap ribbon, but found it too wide so I cut an 8″ length of ribbon, then cut it in half.
Next, place the strips in the Bowdabra.

Then, cut in half another 8″ length of burlap ribbon.
Place in the Bowdabra.

Now cut a 12″ length of lavender ribbon, fold the ends to the center, and place in the Bowdabra (hiding the ends of the ribbon).

Repeat this step with a gold-based purple ribbon, a bit smaller than the lavender ribbon.

Cut 4 lengths of 1/2″ wide ribbon, approximately 4″ each.
Place in the Bowdabra.

Using jute, roll it around 4 fingers creating a circle, making it as thick as you want.
Place it into the Bowdabra.

Thread the loose ends of the wire through the loop and pull tight while the bow is still in the Bowdabra.

Remove the bow from the Bowdabra, turn to the back and tie a double knot.

Fluff out the loops and dovetail the ends of the ribbons.

If necessary, cut the ribbons to desired lengths and re-dove tail the ends.
Using the excess bow wire, twirl around a craft pick.

Prepare the wood Easter egg

Decorate a wood Easter egg with scraps of pattern paper.
Ink the papers, adhere, and cut around the egg.

Using a glue gun, attach the bow to the Easter egg.

Ink a mini Easter egg with purple ink and adhere behind the “o” in Joy.
Adhere Joy to the Easter egg where desired.
