Video DIY – How to make the ultimate multi-use bow

Sandy Sandler shows you the step-by-step process of making an ultimate multi-use bow.  Perfect for a music lover with the music note wired ribbon! Use it to dress up gift packages, or put it on a wreath, the mantel, and more. It is so simple that you can make several in just minutes.  So, let’s get started:

Materials:

Bowdabra or Mini Bowdabra®

Bowdabra® Bow Wire

Musical wired ribbon

Tinsel pick (optional)

Dovetailed tail piece

Instructions:

First, cut a piece of Bowdabra bow wire.  Then, fold it in half and insert it into the Bowdabra.  You will have a loop on one side and two loose wires on the other side.  This will serve as your slipknot. Tuck the ends under to stay out of the way while you are making your bow.

Next, take a length of the musical print ribbon on which the ends have been dovetailed, and fold it in half to find the center. Then, scrunch it into the Bowdabra.

Now, make a multi-loop twist and fold bow. Twist and scrunch in the ribbon, then bring the ribbon across and scrunch down, twist, and repeat.  Continue making loops back and forth, twisting and scrunching down into the Bowdabra.  Measure the loops to see that they are approximately the same size and make sure the wrong sides are always on the inside of the bow.

Scrunch everything down with the Bowdabra wand and then lay in the tinsel.

Scrunch down once again and then insert the loose wires through the loop and pull tight while the bow is still in the Bowdabra. Then, remove the bow from the Bowdabra, separate the ends, turn to the back, and tie a knot.  Tie a double knot for extra security.

Pull apart the loops and arrange and shape your ultimate multi-use bow.
