Looking for a quick and easy way to make a cute little Halloween hair bow? In this tutorial, Sandy Sandler, the creator of the Bowdabra®, shows you how to make a super cute hair bow that any little girl will love!
This is a great project for beginners, busy moms, or anyone who wants to make beautiful bows without fuss. Sandy shares her tips for shaping the perfect loops, using pre-made korker ribbon, and finishing it off securely with a ponytail holder.
Materials:
Mini Bowdabra
Bowdabra Bow Wire
Elastic Ponytail Holder
2 – 6” long, 1.5” wide non-wired grosgrain ribbon of choice
10” – 1.5” wide non-wired grosgrain ribbon of choice
3 – Matching Korker ribbons
3” – 5/8” wide matching non-wired grosgrain or satin ribbon
Hot Glue or glue dots
Fray check or ribbon sealer of choice

Instructions:
First, cut a piece of Bowdabra bow wire, fold it in half, and place it in the Mini Bowdabra. Tuck the ends under while you make your hair bow.
Next, take a piece of grosgrain ribbon which have been pre-dovetailed and fold it in half to find the center, then place it in the Bowdabra. Repeat with a second piece of matching ribbon. To dovetail, fold the ribbon in half and cut at an angle away from the fold.
Now, take a longer piece of the same ribbon, and place the right side down into the Mini Bowdabra, and bring the ribbon across and place the other end into the Bowdabra. Then scrunch down into the center.
Next, lay in some korker ribbon piece to match. Now, scrunch everything down with the Bowdabra wand. Then, insert the loose wires through the loop and pull tight while the bow is still in the Bowdabra. Then, remove the bow from the Bowdabra, separate the ends, turn to the back, and tie a knot. Tie a double knot for extra security.
For a perfect touch, take a thin piece of grosgrain ribbon and, using a Zot or some hot glue, bring the ribbon all around for a finished look. Use the excess wire to tie the little Halloween hair bow onto the ponytail holder.
