How to make a show-stopping Bowdabra gift wrap bow

Bowdabra creator, Sandy Sandler, is here to show you how to easily make an elegant gift box bow in minutes with the Bowdabra. This lovely bow will be the cherry on top of your beautiful gift boxes!  So, let’s get started:

Materials:

58” – 2.5” wide Gold Metallic wired ribbon

1 yd – 2.5” Poinsettia wired ribbon

32” – 1.5” wide Red/Gold Swirl wired ribbon

Instructions:

First, cut a piece of Bowdabra bow wire.  Then, fold it in half and insert it into the Bowdabra.  You will have a loop on one side and two loose wires on the other side.  This will serve as your slipknot. Tuck the ends under to stay out of the way while you are making your bow.

Next, create a funky bow style bow. Fold a length of the gold metallic ribbon in half with a loop on one side and two tails on the other, like an awareness ribbon. Then, place it in the Bowdabra. Then repeat with another length of the same ribbon, alternating the loops and tails.

Make sure you twist when you place it in the Bowdabra so that the wrong side is on the inside.

Repeat this step with two lengths of the poinsettia ribbon.

Next, lay in the miniature ornaments. Now repeat the funky bow style with two lengths of the 1 ½” wide red/gold ribbon.

Finally, using the gold metallic ribbon, scrunch it into the Bowdabra from the top like an accordion. (scrunchy bow)

Now, scrunch everything down with the Bowdabra wand.  Then, insert the loose wires through the loop and pull tight while the bow is still in the Bowdabra. Then, remove the bow from the Bowdabra, separate the ends, turn to the back, and tie a knot.  Tie a double knot for extra security.

To finish, adjust the ornaments and the loops and tails and arrange the bow.  Use the excess wire to attach your Bowdabra gift wrap bow to your wrapped package.  This bow is also perfect for wreaths and all decorative uses. On your gifts, they elevate your packages with a keepsake handmade bow!
