Easy lantern swag – the best Christmas in July craft

Join Nick from Nick’s Seasonal Décor as he transforms you into a bow-making expert in just minutes using Bowdabra! In this exciting session, we’ll explore a variety of funky and traditional bows, plus the best Christmas in July craft to elevate your holiday décor.

Materials required:

• 100-yard Bowdabra silver bow wire
• Large Bowdabra
• A red plaid ribbon roll
• Lantern Swag
• Decorative Pine cones and berry picks

Instructions:

First, prepare your Christmas pick by cutting off the thick stem.

Next, cut a piece of Bowdabra bow wire.  Then, fold it in half and insert it into the Bowdabra.  You will have a loop on one side and two loose wires on the other side.  This will serve as your slipknot. Tuck the ends under to stay out of the way while you are making your bow.

Now, create a funky bow style bow. Fold lengths of ribbon in half with a loop on one side and two tails on the other, like an awareness ribbon. Then, place them in the Bowdabra alternating the sides of loops and tails.

If there is a wrong and right side of the ribbon, make sure you twist when you place it in the Bowdabra so that the wrong side is on the inside.

Next, scrunch everything down with the Bowdabra wand.  Then, insert the loose wires through the loop and pull tight while the bow is still in the Bowdabra. Then, remove the bow from the Bowdabra, separate the ends, turn to the back, and tie a knot.  Tie a double knot for extra security. The Bowdabra wire makes it so easy!

To finish, use the excess wire to secure the bow to the Christmas swag. Dovetail all the tails.

To dovetail, fold the ribbon in half and cut at an angle away from the fold. Secure the bow to the lantern with a heavier gauge wire. Fluff and arrange the bow and Christmas floral pick. You have the best Christmas in July craft to quickly make before the holiday rush!
