Valentine’s Day is the perfect time to spread love, kindness, and creativity! If you’re looking for a fun craft to do with kids, these Valentine heart streamers are just the thing. They’re colorful, easy to make, and look amazing hanging in windows, doorways, or classrooms. Let’s get crafting!
What You’ll Need:
- Card stock in Valentine colors—red, pink, white, lilac, lavender
- Scissors
- Adhesive of your choice: glue stick, double-sided tape, liquid craft glue, or hot glue
- Twine, yarn, or narrow ribbon
- Tape for hanging
- Valentine Hearts Template
Let’s Make Valentine Heart Streamers:
- Cut Out Your Hearts: Print the Valentine Hearts Template, and cut out the shapes. Trace the hearts onto your card stock, and cut them out. Or, you can draw your own hearts without using the templates. Fold your paper in half and draw half a heart along the fold. Cut along the line and open it up—ta-da! A perfect heart. Make lots of hearts in different sizes and colors.

- Create Your Streamers: Cut twine or yarn in lengths appropriate to where you are going to hang your streamers. They look great suspended from doorways or added as window decoration.Run a bead of your preferred adhesive down the center of the heart.
Leave a 3” to 4” yarn tail then glue the heart in place on the yarn.
Continue attaching hearts along the string, spacing them out and randomly mixing the sizes and colors.
- Hang and Enjoy: Use tape to attach the top of each string to a wall, doorway, or window frame. Watch your heart streamers flutter and shine!
Tips & Variations:
- Add glitter, stickers, or messages to each heart.
- Make a rainbow version with all your favorite colors.
- Use patterned scrapbook paper for extra pizzazz.
Valentine Heart Streamers are a great craft for all ages. Younger kids can practice scissor skills and color matching, while older kids can get creative with patterns. Plus, it’s a sweet way to decorate for Valentine’s Day and share love with family and friends.
