Easy tutorial how to make an adorable ribbon bow scrunchie

An adorable braided satin ribbon bow scrunchie is a fun and stunning hair accessory for both girls and women. It adds a unique handmade touch – versatile enough to wear wherever you go! And it’s perfect for everyday glam, gifting, or special occasions! Here’s how to make one:

Materials:

• Satin Ribbon – 2 yds, 1.5″ wide 
• Elastic Hair Bands
• Cardboard – 5″ high
• Scissors
• Hot glue
• Mini-Bowdabra and Wand
• Bowdabra Bow Wire

How To:

Fold the ribbon in half and place it under the two hair bands with the…

center crease between the two bands.

keeping the ribbon folded and smooth.

Then take the top folded ribbon on the left and braid it over the first band and under the second band.

Continue this way, alternating and braiding each side of the folded ribbon. 

Continue braiding each folded ribbon down along the elastic bands, making sure to keep the folded ribbon smooth and pushing the ribbon up to fill in any gaps until…

reaching the bottom.

Continue around the elastic bands and cardboard…

to the backside, braiding the ribbon, as before.

 

Adjust the elastic bands on the cardboard…

until reaching where you began.

Remove the braided elastic bands from the cardboard and open the folded ribbon. Then tie the ribbon into a knot at the center of the bands.

 

Next, dovetail the ribbon ends by folding the ends together and cutting at an angle from the corner tip up to the fold. 

                                        

The braided scrunchie is beginning to look gorgeous!

Make the Bowdabra bow:

Fold the ribbon to make a matching three-inch loop on the opposite side, down into the Mini Bowdabra.

Then make another loop, folding over a 2″ loop, down into the Mini Bowdabra…

making another 2″ loop on the opposite side. Scrunch the loops down using the Mini Bowdabra wand and cut off excess ribbon.

Remove the Mini Bowdabra wand and thread the two loose ends of the bow wire through the loop, pulling tightly and gently pulling the bow out. 

Then tie the bow wire into two knots on the back, cutting off excess wire.

Make a finishing ribbon by cutting off four inches of satin ribbon, folding the sides in, and wrapping around the bow wire to the back of the bow. 

Seal with hot glue.

Add additional hot glue to the center of the scrunchie tails and…
