Make a Lucky Shamrock Hair Accessory— Perfect to Wear on St. Patrick’s Day

🧵Materials Needed:

  • Mini Bowdabra
  • Bowdabra bow wire
  • Green felt in assorted shades
  • Lucky Shamrock Hair Accessory templates 
  • Scissors
  • Hot glue gun or fabric glue
  • White tulle (~4” x 36”)
  • Gem or button for center
  • Pen, pencil or fabric marker
  • Hair clip, barrette, or elastic tie

🍀 Step-by-Step Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Shamrocks
  1. Create the Shamrock Cluster
  • Insert bow wire in the Mini Bowdabra.Silver Wire in Mini Bowdabra
  • Scrunch the strip of tulle into the Mini Bowdabra.Scrunch Tulle into Mini Bowdabra
  • Layer the felt shamrocks on top of the tulle.Layer Shamrock Shapes in Mini Bowdabra
  • Compress the layers with the Mini Bowdabra wand. 
  • Pass the wire ends through the loop and pull tight. Pass Bow Wire Ends through Loop
  • Remove the cluster from the Mini Bowdabra and tie off on the reverse side. If you’re making a decorated hair tie, use the bow wire to tie it to the shamrock cluster.
  • Fluff the tulle/shamrock cluster. Slightly offset each shamrock layer to create dimension.
  1. Finishing the Shamrock 
  • Add a rhinestone or button to the center for a lucky sparkle.Glue Rhinestone to Center of Shamrocks
  1. If You’re Making a Hair Clip
  • Glue the finished shamrock cluster to a hair clip or barrette.
  • Let dry completely before wearing.

Styling Tips:

  • Clip it to a headband, ponytail, or hat for instant St. Paddy’s flair.
  • Make for party favors or classroom crafts.
