Make a Lucky Leprechaun Gnome Pin— Perfect St. Patrick’s Day Craft

✂️ Materials Needed:

  • Mini Bowdabra
  • Bowdabra bow wire
  • Orange yarn 
  • Green cardstock
  • Black cardstock
  • Gold or yellow cardstock
  • Wooden bead
  • Leprechaun Gnome Hat Template
  • Hot glue gun or tacky glue
  • Scissors
  • Pin back
  • Pencil or pen

🧶 Step-by-Step Instructions:

  1. Make the Yarn Beard Pompom
  • Insert the bow wire in the Mini Bowdabra as shown in the picture,Bow Wire Crosswise in Mini Bowdabra

  • Pass the wire ends through the loop, and pull up tightly.Pass Bow Wire Ends through Loop
  • Tie a secure knot on the reverse side. Don’t trim the wire ends just yet.
  • Cut the yarn loops to form a pompom.Cut Loops to Form Pompom
  • Use scissors to sculpt the pompom into a rough triangle shape.Sculpt Pompom into a Rough Triangle Shape
  • Brush the yarn to uncoil individual yarn strands.Brush Yarn to Uncoil Strands and Continue Sculpting
  • Continue sculpting the pompom to form the gnome’s beard.
  1. Create the Paper Hat
  • Print the Leprechaun Gnome Hat Template and cut out the shapes.
  • Trace the shapes onto your cardstock and cut out.
  • The dotted line on the hat is a score line. Use a stylus or the tip of an empty ballpoint pen to scribe it onto the hat. Gently fold the brim on the score line.
  • Glue the black strip in place above the score line. Next, glue the gold buckle in place. Finally, glue the golden shamrock in place.Make the Gnome's Hat
  1. Assemble the Gnome
  • Glue the wooden bead onto the pompom beard to form the nose.

  • Trim the wire ends.

🌈 Tips & Variations:

  • Use glitter paper or metallic cardstock for a sparkly twist.
