How to Make the Perfect Bowl Using Faux Autumn Leaves

The bright gold, copper, red, orange, and yellow of autumn leaves are captured in this DIY bowl. You can use real leaves or silk ones. A great addition to your autumn home decor.

Gather these supplies for your autumn leaves bowl:

• Real or artificial autumn leaves
• Bowl
• Plastic film
• Dishwasher Safe ModPodge
• Paint brush

Let’s make the bowl:

1.  If you’re using artificial leaves, remove the plastic veins.
2. Cover the outside of the bowl you’re using as a mold with plastic film.
3. Begin by painting a section of the bowl with ModPodge.
4. Coat the underside of a leaf with ModPodge, and position it on the bowl. Add a coat of ModPodge on top of the leaf.
5. Continue adding leaves until the entire bowl is covered. It’s OK to have some small gaps between leaves.
6. Set aside for 24 hours to dry thoroughly. Carefully lift the leaf bowl from the mold and peel away the plastic film.  You can trim away any excess ModPodge that accumulates and dries.
7. Enjoy displaying your autumn leaves bowl.
