How to Make the Most Adorable Halloween Yarn Mummy Magnet

Kids of all ages will love making these adorable Halloween yarn mummy magnets. The bonus is that you are recycling deli food trays when you make them.

Gather these supplies for the yarn mummy magnet:

• Black food tray (the kind that meat comes packaged on)
• Quick drying liquid glue
• White yarn
• Googly eyes
• Scissors or craft knife
• Scotch tape
• Button magnet
• Mummy Templates

Follow these instructions:

1. Print and cut out the templates. There are three different mummy shapes from which to choose. Trace the mummy shape onto the styrofoam food tray using a stylus or ballpoint pen. You want to make an indentation in the food tray.
2. Cut out the styrofoam mummy.
3. Glue googly eyes in place.
4. Scotch tape the end of the yarn to the back side of the mummy.
5. Wrap the yarn around the mummy’s arms, legs, head, and body. There’s no right or wrong—just wrap until you’re happy with the look.
6. When you’re ready to finish wrapping the yarn, end on the back side. Glue the end in place, and trim any excess.
7. Next, glue a magnet to the center back of the mummy.
8. Now your mummy is ready for a place of honor on your frig!!
