Sandy Sandler, the creator of the amazing Bowdabra is here to show you how to make a 7-minute door swag with no fuss and no glue needed! It’s so easy with the Bowdabra so let’s get started.
Materials:
1 yd 21” wide blue deco mesh
1 yd 21” wide red deco mesh
2.5” wide Red/White/Blue Star Spangled, one-yard dovetailed
1.5” wide Red Wired Burlap One-yard dovetailed
1.5” wide Red/White/Blue Wave the Flag One yard, dovetailed
2 yds, 2.5” wide Red/White/Blue Star Spangled Ribbon
1.5 yds, 1.5” wide Red Wired Burlap Ribbon
1 yd, 1.5” wide Red/White/Blue Wave the Flag Ribbon
Floral pick
Instructions:
First, cut a piece of Bowdabra bow wire. Then, fold it in half and insert it into the Bowdabra. You will have a loop on one side and two loose wires on the other side. This will serve as your slipknot. Tuck the ends under to stay out of the way while you are making your bow.
Next, take the blue deco mesh roll the ends under to hide any fraying, and scrunch into the Bowdabra. Scrunch down into the Bowdabra from the center like an accordion. When you get to the end curl it under to hide any fraying.
Repeat the previous step with the red deco mesh. Next lay in the ribbon tails.
Next, using a length of star-spangled ribbon place the end in the Bowdabra, twist and fold across to make a loop, and continue to twist and fold to make loops. Scrunch everything down with the Bowdabra wand.
Repeat this step with the red burlap ribbon. Repeat with the star-spangled ribbon making the loops just a little bit smaller.
Finishing your door swag
Finally, lay in the floral pick. You may want to open the towers up a bit since the Bowdabra is full.
Scrunch everything down with the Bowdabra wand. Then, insert the loose wires through the loop and pull tight while the bow is still in the Bowdabra. Then, remove the bow from the Bowdabra, separate the ends, turn to the back, and tie a knot. Tie a double knot for extra security.
To finish your swag, fluff and arrange. You have a gorgeous 7-minute door swag!
