Whether you are an experienced bow maker or just starting you will be amazed at how easy it is to make this spring bow. It’s a perfect spring door swag to bring a burst of cheer to your home.
Materials:
21-inch wide decorative mesh
Assorted filler flowers
Instructions:
First, cut a long piece of Bowdabra bow wire. Then, fold it in half and insert it into the Bowdabra. You will have a loop on one side and two loose wires on the other side. This will serve as your slipknot. Tuck the ends under to stay out of the way while you are making your door bow.
Next, roll the mesh to cover any frayed edges. Then, scrunch the mesh from the center down into the Bowdabra. Continue scrunching the mesh until you reach the end, then roll the end under as you did before to hide any fraying. Push everything down with the Bowdabra wand.
Now, lay in some filler flowers. Then, add the precut ribbon tails on which you have already dovetailed. To dovetail, fold the ribbon in half and cut at an angle away from the fold.
Now, using a longer piece of ribbon twist and lay it in the Bowdabra. Bring it across to make a loop and then twist and repeat. Continue folding and twisting making sure the wrong side is on the inside of the bow. Repeat this step with the second and third color ribbon making the loops just a little bit smaller.
Next, scrunch everything down with the Bowdabra wand. Then, insert the loose wires through the loop and pull tight while the bow is still in the Bowdabra. Then, remove the bow from the Bowdabra, separate the ends, turn to the back, and tie a knot. Tie a double knot for extra security.
To finish, shape out the loops and arrange the florals. Then, curl the ribbon tails. See how easy it is to make this stunning spring bow? Be sure to follow Bowdabra on Facebook and don’t miss out on our lives every Monday at 7:00 EST, 6:00 CST, 5:00 MST, and 4:00 PST.
