Supply List:
Large Bowdabra
Bowdabra Bow Wire
2 x 2.5 in ribbon
1 x 1.5 in ribbon
Scissors
Instructions:
First, cut a piece of Bowdabra bow wire. Then, fold it in half and insert it into the Bowdabra. You will have a loop on one side and two loose wires on the other side. This will serve as your slipknot. Tuck the ends under to stay out of the way while you are making your bow.
Next, cut a 16″ piece of ribbon for the tails fold it in half, and place it in the Bowdabra. (If your ribbon is one-sided you will need to twist it when you place it in the Bowdabra so the right side is facing up.
Now, make a loop and then twist to make a matching loop on the opposite side. Twisting and folding make sure that the right side is on the outside of your bow. The loops are approximately 6 inches. Continue twisting and making loops till there are 3 loops on each side.
Now, using the next ribbon start as you did before but this time with a 15-inch tail. Twist and fold to make loops. Make these loops about an inch smaller than the first bow at about 5 inches. This time making only 5-inch loops on each side.
Continue with the third bow
Next, use the third ribbon starting with 13-inch tails. Repeat the process as you did with the other two ribbons. Make these loops about 4 inches. Make only one loop on each side. Finish with a 2-inch button loop. Scrunch everything down with the Bowdabra wand.
Then, insert the loose wires through the loop and pull tight while the bow is still in the Bowdabra. Then, remove the bow from the Bowdabra, separate the ends, turn to the back, and tie a knot. Tie a double knot for extra security. The Bowdabra wire makes it so easy!
Arrange the tails and loops of the bows. Trim and dovetail the tails. Your 3-2-1 bow is complete and beautiful. Use it on wreaths, packages, gifts, and more!
