Easy Bowdabra Tutorial: How to Make the Most Beautiful Valentine Bow Door Hanger
With Valentines Day just around the corner, here’s a easy way to make an adorable Valentine bow door hanger. And who doesn’t love quick and easy Valentine decor- especially one made with pretty Bowdabra bows!
First, begin with the Bowdabra bow making tool by folding an 18″ length of bow wire in half and placing it in the Bowdabra, tucking ends under.
Add the streamers:
Then cut three strips of 5/8″ ribbon 25″, 23″ and 21″ long. Fold in half, pinching the middles and place down into the Bowdabra, design side up. You want the strips to look staggered.
Next, leave the 2.5″ ribbon on the roll and crease about an inch from the end of the ribbon and insert down into the Bowdabra.
Since the design is on one side of this ribbon, fold a 5″ loop, creasing, and twisting the center of ribbon down into the Bowdabra.
Fold and twist ribbon to make a matching loop on the opposite side, down into the Bowdabra. Hold loops up along the Bowdabra tower to make sure the loops are equal in size.
Then create two more five inch loops, as before, for a total of four loops – two on each side. Use the Bowdabra Wand to scrunch all the loops down.
Next, take the decorative 1.5″ wired ribbon pattern side up, and insert end down into the Bowdabra. Make a 3.5″ loop, folding and twisting down into the Bowdabra. Fold and twist ribbon to make a matching 3.5″ loop on the opposite side, down into the Bowdabra.
Continue making two more loops on either side. Folding and creasing the center and twisting the ribbon into the Bowdabra for a total of six loops.
To finish the bow, make a button loop to cover the bow wire, cutting off excess ribbon.
Then scrunch all the loops down using the Bowdabra wand.
While the bow is still in the Bowdabra, thread the loose ends of the bow wire through the loop and pull tight while gently pulling the bow out.
Take the bow wire around to the back, tying the wire in two or three tight knots. .
creating a loop for hanging.
Add the heart streamers:
Next, take six heart stems from the dollar store and remove the stems simple by pulling the stems out.
Then place glue on the end of the ribbon streamers and . . .
attach to the back of the hearts for . . .
a cool decorative look!
