Hi there! I’m Lisa from The Rustic Vine, for the Bowdabra Design Team and today I’m excited to share a charming Shabby Chic Heart Shadow Box tutorial. This delightful project adds a touch of vintage elegance to any space. It’s perfect for home decor or as a heartfelt gift. Let’s get crafting!
Supplies:
*Wooden shadowbox- can be open type
*scrapbook paper of choice for background
*string pearls
*fabric or ribbon for bow
*paint- color of choice
*Modpodge
*Jute or Bowdabra bowwire
Instructions:
First, use some watercolor paint to brush on a light wash of pink on some music print scrapbook paper.
Next, prepare your shadowbox by painting some white paint all around. Then brush some ModPodge on the inside of the shadow box and place the prepared scrapbook paper that has been cut to the right size.
Now, draw on a heart shape in the center. Then glue on some string pearls all around the heart.
Make the Bowdabra bow:
Next, fold some jute or Bowdabra bow wire in half and lay it in the Mini Bowdabra. Now, begin making loops back and forth in the Mini Bowdabra with some fabric strips. (You can optionally use ribbon if desired) Then, thread the loose ends of the jute or bow wire through the loop and pull tight while the bow is still in the Bowdabra. Remove from the Bowdabra, turn to the back, and tie a knot and double knot.
Glue the bow to the top of the shabby chic shadow chic heart shadowbox and add some embellishments to the center if desired. Finally, add a hanger.
