8” embroidery hoop
Tea Towel (Hobby Lobby)
Grey paint
hot glue
Ribbon or fabric for bow
Button or bell for bow
Jute
First, take an embroidery hoop and stain it with gray acrylic paint. Here we used black and plaster colors to make gray and applied it with a baby wipe.
Next, cut a tea towel in half. Then, place it in a cup filled with instant coffee and water and let it sit for a few minutes. Remove it and let it dry.
Now, place the prepared tea towel on top of the smaller hoop part making sure the lettering is centered. Then lay the larger hoop part on top to attach. Cinch it together and tighten the screw to make it taut. Cut all the excess fabric all around.
First, take a piece of jute fold it in half, and lay it in the Bowdabra. Next, use some ribbon or coffee-stained fabric (ours had musical notes) and lay it in the Bowdabra. If it has an image, make sure you twist and fold it to be sure the image is always showing.
Make two loops on each side. Thread the loose jute pieces through the loop and pull tight while the bow is still in the Bowdabra. Remove, turn to the back, and tie a knot and double knot.
To finish, add a jute hanger to the top of your rustic door hanger and then tie the bow to the hanging loop. Add a rusty bell to the center of the bow and some foliage on both sides.
