Join Sandy Sandler, the creator of Bowdabra, as she demonstrates a creative and fun way to repurpose a holiday cookie tin into an adorable hair bow holder. This upcycled hair bow holder serves two purposes. You can store clips, and hair elastics inside the tin and your hair bows on the outside.
Recycled tin
Believe ribbon
First, using a glue gun or glue dots, attach strips of Believe ribbon vertically on the recycled tin. Glue to the top and bottom leaving room to attach hair bows to the ribbon strips. Then attach some rhinestone ribbon horizontally in the same way.
First, cut a piece of Bowdabra bow wire. Fold it in half and lay it in the Mini Bowdabra. Tuck the ends underneath to stay out of the way while making your bow.
Next, lay in a pre-cut, and dovetailed sheer Canada ribbon strips in the Mini Bowdabra. Then using the Believe ribbon, find the center and place in the Bowdabra with the right side facing down. Bring one end over and then follow with the other end. Now, lay in another piece of pre-cut Canada ribbon. Place a second piece of Believe ribbon right side down, bring one end over and follow with the other end as you did before. Place one more strip of Canada ribbon on top.
To finish the bow cut a piece of Rhinestone ribbon and then cut through the rhinestones vertically on both ends but only part of the way. This way you have rhinestones that will move and shine.
Scrunch everything down with the Bowdabra wand. Then pull the loose wire through the loop and pull tight while the bow is still in the Bowdabra. Remove from the Bowdabra, turn to the back and tie a knot.
Finally, use some hot glue to attach the decorative Bow to the top of the tin. Now you can attach your hair bows to the ribbon strips and store other items inside the tin! What a great storage recycling hack!
