Hi, I’m Joette with the Bowdabra Design Team! In this tutorial, we’re diving into the fun world of Halloween decor with a creative twist: making a stunning pumpkin topiary that won’t break the bank. Most of the supplies for this project came from the Dollar Tree, so you can craft a festive masterpiece without spending a fortune. Join me as we step through each simple process, and let’s get started on transforming your space into a Halloween wonderland!
Materials:
3 Mismatched pumpkins, one lighted
Skewer stick
Hot glue
Creepy Cupcake decor hands
2 yards of 2.5” wide ribbon
Mini Bowdabra
Bowdabra Bow Wire
Instructions:
First, start with three pumpkins in various sizes from the Dollar Tree. Begin by removing the stems. Next, take a skewer and attach it to the top of the bottom pumpkin. Now, thread the second pumpkin down onto the skewer. It may take a little assistance. Add an ample amount of hot glue as needed to secure the pumpkins.
Attach the top pumpkin to the skewer and secure it with some more hot glue. Glue the hand to the side of the pumpkin topiary.
Make the Bowabra bow:
Fold a length of Bowdabra bow wire in half and place it in the Bowdabra.
We make this bow with a combination of styles. First, add some ribbon funky bow style, by folding a loop and tail and placing it in the Bowdabra. For the next one reverse the side with the loop and tail.
Next, make a fold and twist bow on top.
Now, scrunch everything down with the Bowdabra wand. Thread the loose wires through the loops and pull tight while the bow is still in the Bowdabra. Remove from the Bowdabra, separate the wire, turn to the back, and tie a knot. Fluff and arrange the bow.
To finish, use the excess wire to tie the bow around the top pumpkin of the pumpkin topiary. Make sure you still have access to the switch to turn on the light on the top pumpkin head.
You have an adorable and fun pumpkin topiary and the best part was that it was quick, easy, and inexpensive!
