In this quick tutorial, Lisa from The Rustic Vine shows you how to transform a simple Dollar Tree pumpkin into a charming wooden rustic pumpkin decoration. Gather your supplies and let’s get crafting!
Wood pumpkin (Dollar Tree)
White Paint-optional
cotton ball
Jute
Fabric or ribbon for bow
Button
Hot glue
First, prepare the wood pumpkin. Then brush some white paint all around the edges of the pumpkin. Let dry and sand the piece for a more rustic look.
Cut a piece of twine, fold it in half, and place it in the Bowdabra. Then, lay in some Excelsior. Next, make some loops with pieces of fabric or ribbon and place them in the Bowdabra. Follow with various ribbon or fabric strips.
Thread the loose twine through the loop and pull tight. Remove the bow, turn to the back, and tie a knot and double knot. Fluff and arrange your bow. Add a button to the center. Hot glue the bow to the stem of the pumpkin.
Download and print the image with the saying. Put it together with a white piece of paper and cut it around in the shape of a candy corn. Put a cotton ball in between both and glue around for some dimension. Attach it to some twine and glue it to the front of the Pumpkin.
To finish, add some trim around the bottom edge. You have a stunning wooden rustic pumpkin to add to your fall decor.
