Fall is in the air and I’m going to show you how to make a very easy, and gorgeous autumn leaves wreath. It’s really going to put you in the mood for decorating for Fall! Once you make one, you’re going to love to hang it on your door or somewhere in your home! It’s just that beautiful! So let’s get started!
First, we will be using a 12″ square metal floral hoop! You can actually make one using thick wire or use a square wreath form from the dollar store and cut off the two smaller squares.
Remove the group of leaves from the garland and starting at the top of the square hoop, begin tying the leaves onto the frame using wire.
Continue tying the leaves onto the hoop moving from the right top down the right side and going across until . . .
Fold a 24″ piece of Bowdabra wire in half and lay in the Bowdabra, You’ll have a loop at one end and two loose pieces at the opposite end. Tuck ends under. This length will be enough to make a loop to hang the wreath! Then cut a strip of wired 2.5 inch wide ribbon 12″ long. Pinch the ribbon in the middle and insert down into the Bowdabra for the bow tails.
Next, fold and twist the other side at the same width (4.5″) for the next loop, creasing the ribbon down into the Bowdabra.
Make a slip knot by taking the loose ends of the bow wire through the wire loop, pulling tight . . .
while gently pulling the bow out.
Separate the wires around to the back, tying in a double knot.
Take the end of the ribbon in the center over the bow wire, tucking under into a decorative knot for a finished look!
Dovetail the ends by folding each end together and cutting at an angle from the end up to the fold at an angle . . .
creating the perfect Bowdabra Bow!
Then fluff and tie the bow onto the center of the square hoop. Leave enough bow wire to make a loop for hanging. How gorgeous does this look?
