Sandy Sandler, the creator of the Bowdabra shows you how to make the most stunning sunflower swag. This swag is multi-use and can be a gorgeous centerpiece, door swag, and so much more! In addition, it is easier than you can imagine to create in just minutes!
Materials:
21” wide mesh, 1 ½ yds.
Eucalyptus leaves
Sunflower florals
Instructions:
First, cut a piece of Bowdabra bow wire. Then, fold it in half and insert it into the Bowdabra. You will have a loop on one side and two loose wires on the other side. This will serve as your slipknot. Tuck the ends under to stay out of the way while you are making your bow.
Next, curl the ends of the mesh under and place it in the Bowdabra scrunching down from the top. Make sure you stay in the center. Finish by curling the ends under as you did in the beginning.
Now, lay in the cream burlap tails followed by the sunflower ribbon. Continue alternating the ribbons.
Now, lay in some Eucalyptus leaves fanning out on both sides. Follow this by laying in some sunflowers on each side.
Next, take the long piece of cream burlap ribbon making sure the wire side is facing down. Then, bring the ribbon over, twist, and over to the opposite side. Continue folding and twisting till you reach the end of the ribbon.
Repeat the previous step with the sunflower ribbon. Finish with a smaller button loop.
Now scrunch everything down with the Bowdabra wand. Then, insert the loose wires through the loop and pull tight while the bow is still in the Bowdabra. Then, remove the bow from the Bowdabra, separate the ends, turn to the back, and tie a knot. Tie a double knot for extra security. The Bowdabra wire makes it so easy!
Shape out and fluff the loops of the sunflower swag.
What a gorgeous way to bring the colors of autumn to your door, table centerpiece, or just about anywhere!
