Liz from Crafty Queens shows us how easy it is to use some scrap wood to make the best autumn crow decor. It’s easy and fun so let’s get started!

MATERIALS:
  • Scrap wood
  • Shim
  • Burlap
  • Cotton balls
  • Twine
  • Sandpaper
  • Paint
  • Fabric
  • Bowdabra
  • Bow wire
  • Embellishments

Instructions:

First, brush some black chalk paint onto a piece of scrap wood. Let dry. Sand all around the edges.

Next using a small piece of thin wood cut out a triangle shape and paint it orange.  This will be the crow’s beak.

Now, wrap some burlap around the top of the wooden piece and stuff it with cotton balls for the hat. Tie the top together with a small piece of twine.

Next, attach the beak with some glue and tack down the hat. Then with some white paint make two small dots for the eyes.  Dot some black paint on top for the pupils. Now, cut some fabric and wrap it around the bottom of the hat for a scarf and glue it down.

Make the bow:

Cut some fabric strips in the desired colors.  Then, cut a piece of Bowdabra bow wire, fold it in half, and place it in the Bowdabra.  Begin making loops with the fabric strips and laying them in the Bowdabra.

Thread the loose wires through the loop and pull tight while the bow is still in the Bowdabra.  Separate the ends, remove from the Bowdabra, turn to the back, and tie a knot.

Fluff and trim up the bow and attach it to the center of the scarf.  Roll up a bit of Excelsior and attach it to the center of the bow.  Make one or several of these adorable crows.  You have the most delightful autumn crow decor!
