I’m Lisa from A Rustic Vine, and I’m excited to be here as part of the Bowdabra Design Team today. In this post, I’ll be showing you how to create a beautiful and easy Christmas decor piece. We’ll be adding the perfect finishing touch by adorning it with a lovely Mini Bowdabra Bow. Let’s get started!
First, remove the glass from the shadow box frame. Then, trace around some corrugated cardboard and cut it out.
Next, cut out a piece of cardstock the same size as the cardboard. Remove layers of a printed napkin to have just one layer. Then, spread some ModPodge evenly on the cardstock and apply the napkin. Trim off any excess paper around the edges. Seal the piece with some more ModPodge.
Now, place the stencil on the decoupaged piece, and using a sponge, tap all around with paint to apply the stencil. Let dry completely. Replace the image in the frame and back with the corrugated cardboard piece.
Cut a piece of Bowdabra bow wire, fold it in half, and place it in the Mini Bowdabra. Lay in some red gingham ribbon leaving a tail. Then make two loops on each side ending with a tail. Repeat this step with some thinner ribbon making the loops slightly smaller.
Now, thread the loose wires through the loop and pull tight while the bow is still in the Mini Bowdabra. Remove, turn to the back, and tie a knot. Fluff and arrange the bow.
To finish, add a dot of hot glue to the top of the frame and attach the bow. Optionally add a mini star to the center. You have a beautiful Christmas decor piece with a gorgeous Bowdabra bow that is made in just a few minutes!
