Sandy Sandler is here today showing you how to make a 10-minute door swag like a pro. It’s Christmas in July and this holiday door swag will be the hit of the season this year. And the best part is that it only took 10 minutes!!
1.5 yards Deco Mesh 21” wide
3 yards Buffalo Plaid-Red/Black 2.5”
2.5 yards Snowdrop-Red 1.5”
2 Holly bushes
Hanging Evergreen stem/bush Filler flower bush
2 Hanging Wisteria stems/bush
Hydrangea bloom pick/stem
Magnolia bloom pick/stem
Bowdabra Bow Wire
Bowdabra
First, cut a piece of Bowdabra bow wire. Then, fold it in half and insert it into the Bowdabra. You will have a loop on one side and two loose wires on the other side. This will serve as your slipknot. Tuck the ends under to stay out of the way while you are making your bow.
Next, take the mesh and curl the ends under to hide any fraying. Then scrunch down the center making sure there is the same amount on both sides of the Bowdabra. When you reach the end curl the ends under and scrunch them in the Bowdabra to hide the fraying.
Now, lay in the greenery facing the downside of the swag. Then, add a berry bush facing the upside, and add another berry facing up but in the opposite direction.
Next, lay in the red wisteria facing down. Follow with the hydrangea flower.
Now, lay in the buffalo plaid and snowflake ribbon tails. Add the magnolia flower.
Take the buffalo plaid ribbon and twist and lay in the Bowdabra. Fold across to make a loop, twist, and fold, and continue in this manner till the end of the ribbon.
Repeat this step with the snowflake ribbon. Finish with a smaller loop. (button loop)
Now scrunch everything down with the Bowdabra wand. Then, insert the loose wires through the loop and pull tight while the bow is still in the Bowdabra. Then, remove the bow from the Bowdabra, separate the ends, turn to the back, and tie a knot. Tie a double knot for extra security.
Fluff and arrange your 10-minute door swag and when the holidays roll around display it all season long.
