Various ribbons (patriotic, American flag, etc.)
Picks (red, white, and blue)
First, cut a piece of Bowdabra bow wire. Then, fold it in half and insert it into the Bowdabra. You will have a loop on one side and two loose wires on the other side. This will serve as your slipknot. Tuck the ends under to stay out of the way while you are making your bow.
Next, use the 4-inch-wide burlap twist and place it in the Bowdabra. Fold across to make a loop, twist, and make a matching loop on the other side. Continue folding and twisting to make a bow.
Now, find the center of some patriotic ribbon and scrunch down into the Bowdabra for the tails.
Next, lay in the picks. (red, silver, and blue) Then, repeat facing the picks on the opposite side.
Now, lay in small strips of flag ribbon. Then, with another piece of patriotic ribbon, twist and fold to make loops making sure the right side is facing up.
Next, use the red scrunchie ribbon to place in the Bowdabra from the top and push down like an accordion. Add a pick in the center.
Now, scrunch everything down with the Bowdabra wand. Then, insert the loose wires through the loop and pull tight while the bow is still in the Bowdabra. Then, remove the bow from the Bowdabra, separate the ends, turn to the back, and tie a knot. Tie a double knot for extra security
Fluff out and arrange the swag by separating the loops and pulling the tails down.
To finish, use the excess wire to tie the swag to the top of your lantern. You have the most epic patriotic lantern swag to liven up your patriotic décor!
