3” strip of 2.5” wide ribbon
Mini Bowdabra
Bowdabra Bow Wire
First, cut a piece of Bowdabra bow wire. Then, fold it in half and insert it into the Mini Bowdabra. You will have a loop on one side and two loose wires on the other side. This will serve as your slipknot. Tuck the ends under to stay out of the way while you are making your bow.
Next, place strips of 1 1/2″ wide satin ribbon and burlap ribbon which you have already dovetailed to the ends into the Mini Bowdabra.
Now working with a 2 1/2″ wide ribbon insert into the Mini Bowdabra from the top down, like an accordion.
Then scrunch everything down, thread the loose wires through the loop, and pull tight. Remove from the Mini Bowdabra, separate the ends, turn to the back, and tie a knot.
Fluff and shape the hair bow by pulling out and separating the tails making sure the burlap ribbon is behind the satin ribbon. Use the excess ribbon to tie a ponytail elastic to the hair bow. And that’s all there is to it! Kids can make it quick and easy! This would be a great project for Girl Scout swaps, gifts for friends, camp crafts, and more!
