Materials
- Fabric, lace, ribbon
- Stuffing
- Bowdabra, bow wire
- Bowdabra bow maker
- Embellishments
Instructions
- First, trace and cut two pieces of fabric in the shape of a star. Use the trace line as a guide for the glue.
- Next, glue them together leaving an opening for the stuffing.
- Then, stuff it, with fiberfill or whatever you have on hand. Use a skewer to make sure that the stuffing reaches the ends of the star.
- Fray the edges with sandpaper.
- Add a strip of cheesecloth under the “arms” of the star and glue it all around the star.
Make the bow:
- Cut a piece of Bowdabra bow wire, fold it in half, and place it in the Bowdabra. Now using some extra cheesecloth lay it in the Bowdabra and fold it back and forth to make a bow, Continue adding red, white, and blue ribbons, fabric, and lace in the same way. Pull the loose wires through the loop turn to the back and tie a knot.
- Fluff and arrange the bow and then glue it to the star. Add your choice of embellishments and you have the most beautiful Americana star that has a myriad of uses!
