Small Lantern
1.5 yards Daisy Garden ribbon-Pink 1.5”
5 yards Sweetness Ribbon-Lt. Pink 7/8”
Scrap floral stem from a mixed floral bush
Scrap stem of foliage
Pieces of filler flower
First, cut a piece of Bowdabra bow wire. Then, fold it in half and insert it into the Bowdabra. You will have a loop on one side and two loose wires on the other side. This will serve as your slipknot. Tuck the ends under to stay out of the way while you are making your bow.
Next, lay in the scrap flowers on one side of the Mini Bowdabra and follow with some scrap foliage stem on the opposite side.
Then using the Daisy garden ribbon dovetail the ends. To dovetail, fold the ribbon in half and cut at an angle away from the fold. Lay it in the Bowdabra leaving a small tail. Next, twist and fold making loops back and forth making sure the print is facing up. When you reach the end do not twist just lay it in the Bowdabra for the second tail.
Now, using the lacy ribbon, place it in the center and bring a loop across followed by another loop to the other side, making a small bow.
Add the mini scrap flowers to the Mini Bowdabra.
Finally, scrunch everything down with the Bowdabra wand. Then, insert the loose wires through the loop and pull tight while the bow is still in the Bowdabra. Then, remove the bow from the Bowdabra, separate the ends, turn to the back, and tie a knot. Tie a double knot for extra security.
To finish, shape your bow by pulling all the loops apart and arranging the florals. Then, use the excess wire to attach the Mini lantern swag to your lantern and you have the most beautiful spring or summer décor!
