Hello, everyone! I’m Lisa from Crafting with Mimi and a proud member of the Bowdabra Design Team. Today, I’m thrilled to show you how to transform a simple Dollar Tree wood sign into a spectacular piece for your home or as a thoughtful gift. With spring in the air, this bunny floral sign bursts with gorgeous color and is perfect for ushering in the new season and all through summer. Let’s get crafting!
Wooden bunny sign from Dollar Tree
White and brown paint
Sponge brushes/regular paintbrush
Modpodge
Napkin of choice
Exacto knife
Ribbon of choice for bow
Jute for hangar
Hot glue
First, take the hanger off the sign, and paint the whole thing with white paint using a foam brush. Then, use a regular brush to get in between the beads and dry completely.
Next, spread a thin layer of ModPodge onto the bunny, then lay your napkin on top of the wet ModPodge. Use your fingers to press the napkin into the bunny, making sure you get in all of the nooks and crannies. Allow to dry completely.
Next, use an exacto knife to cut around the bunny, being very careful not to rip your napkin.
Then, take a small foam brush and lightly paint the top surface of the beads and around the edges of the sign.
First, cut a piece of Bowdabra bow wire, fold it in half, and place it in the Mini Bowdabra. Next, lay in the red ribbon and make two loops on each side. Repeat this step with the yellow ribbon. Finally, add some string pearls and make one loop on each side. Thread the loose wires through the loop and pull tight. Remove the bow from the Bowdabra, turn to the back, and tie a knot.
To finish use some hot glue to attach the bow to your project.
For the final touch attach a jute hanger to the top.
