Hi! I’m Brandy, of A Rustic Stitch for the Bowdabra Design Team. Today, I’ve got a special project for you. We’re going to create a twine cross wood block that will make for a simple yet powerful Easter display. Get ready to craft a meaningful piece that carries a strong message. Let’s dive in and bring some rustic charm to your Easter decor!
8″ wood block
Jute twine
Greenery: small leaf bush & lamb’s ear
Florals of choice
Bow: muslin & faded green cotton/jute bow
1/2″ stamps for the word “forgiven”
First, staple the end of some twine to the board and begin wrapping the long way around the board. Staple the twine and then repeat this step the other way forming a cross shape.
Tuck all the loose pieces of twine and ends under to hide. Next, begin adding embellishments. Tuck lamb’s ear greenery, berries and florals y, etc.
Using the Mini Bowdabra, cut a piece of twine, fold it in half, and lay it in the Bowdabra. Now begin adding ribbon, create a tail, and then fold loops back and forth to make a small bow.
Pull the loose ends tightly through the loop (slipknot) and then remove them from the Bowdabera, turn to the back, and tie a knot. fluff out the bow.
Stamp the words, “forgiven” on the tail of the bow. Add a small jute bow to the center and some more florals to balance it out. Attach the bow to the center of the cross. You have a powerful and meaningful Easter display that was quick and easy to make.
